Janine G. Gibson lives supporting collective values as co-founder of her solar powered co-op farm south of Steinbach. Living and working with nature has led to protecting ecosystem health through work with local and national communities. This dedication inspires her support for the GPM as a Leadership candidate. 

Life-long learning: Janine studied Psychology at the University of Winnipeg and Human Ecology at the University of Manitoba, with guest lecturing in plant science with Dr. Martin Entz. Her roles with the International Organic Inspectors Association include serving as President, a peer evaluator, and trainer. Working in teams developing and interpreting organic standards transfers to policy development and implementation in proposing alternatives to extractive capitalism and industrial agriculture. Her contracts have included Verification Officer, seminars on the Canadian Organic Standards, and teaching organic crop and livestock production at AC College. 

Promoting, collaborating, and nurturing high quality teams:

Building organic agriculture teams in Manitoba through her 30-year business Creative Health Consulting, includes national president of Canadian Organic Growers (COG) currently Executive Secretary, co-founder of COG’s local chapter, the Organic Food Council of Manitoba and past co-president of the Manitoba Organic Alliance. She represents Manitoba on the Organic Federation of Canada and the Organic Standards Technical Committee, with writing expertise and knowledge of restoring prairie ecosystems. Currently on the Executives of Hogwatch Manitoba and Our Line in the Sand MB, she strives to hold business and government accountable.

Janine is the proud mother of Arel (Troy) and Andrew (Molly), and grandmother to Saige (Quinn).
