Hello my fellow party members, both old and new!

It’s been a fun campaign run, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to work alongside my wonderful fellow contestants, and excited to work with them moving forward! In whatever role I take in this party’s future, I always want to emphasize the importance of community, and of intersectionality.

I firmly believe the Green Party of Manitoba should be the party of the community. The party of activism and of service to the groups that fight for our communities. We must take a step back, and at times humble ourselves to take a place alongside, and a place of service to these activist groups, offering them the tool of the binding vote, and an alternative to a system that has failed them. In practice, this means regularly attending events, building relationships, and coming into every relationship asking what we can give, rather than what we can get.

As a political party in Manitoba, our biggest concern should be, well, the issues in the minds and lives of the people of Manitoba! As a participant in our government, in the house or on the streets, we have a duty to be receptive and tailor ourselves to the needs of our neighbours. As such, all policy we develop should be in the pursuit of a greater platform, and of the “green vision” of sustainability. In practice, this means a great concern for “webbing” our policies, and ensuring all policies are simultaneously comprehensive and accessible.
