Casey has called Winnipeg home since 2015, and is an active member of the community. A UBCO Graduate, she studied Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, and has worked in wildlife rehabilitation and wetland conservation since. Casey and her husband Troy are proud residents of Fort Garry, where as new parents, they are raising their son.
Having grown up camping, hiking, and kayaking in the Okanagan Valley of B.C., Casey is passionate about addressing the current global climate crisis and ensuring that we leave this planet habitable for future generations. She aims to live a low-waste lifestyle, minimizing her carbon footprint.
With a long history of volunteerism, her efforts are currently focused on organizing Winnipeg VegFest, an inclusive event that prides itself on bringing awareness to the importance of adopting a plant based lifestyle for the environment, for health, and for the animals. Additionally, she works with local youth through Girl Guides of Canada, and enjoys being a leader capable of inspiring our younger community members to grow into stewards of the earth through hands on and experience based activities such as community cleanup events, working with local social assistance programs, and participating in immersive outdoor experiences.
Casey is running for office because she believes in a better future – one where we address the root cause of systemic issues like poverty and healthcare, one where we invest in the future of green technology and transportation. Casey knows that we can build this future, together!
