The Green Party of Manitoba announces Sabrina Koehn Binesi as its candidate in the upcoming Point Douglas by-election on June 13.
Sabrina Koehn Binesi lives, works and volunteers in Point Douglas. She has the vision to lead with a fresh perspective and the courage to be a voice for change.
Sabrina Koehn Binesi is passionate about the concerns of Point Douglas residents. Her top priorities include:
- working towards keeping families together and fixing the broken CFS system.
- mitigating poverty through a guaranteed annual income plan.
- strengthening community bonds through supporting grass-roots movements, upholding reconciliation and uplifting the role of elders in mentoring youth.

Sabrina Koehn Binesi is of Ojibway and Cree descent. She was adopted when she was four years old and raised by German, Scottish-Irish parents.
She has obtained her legal assistant diploma from Herzing College and is currently entering her fourth year in political studies at the University of Winnipeg.
She has worked in the private sector, as well as the provincial and federal public service, including the departments of: the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Secretariat, Manitoba Finance, Manitoba Labour Board, Manitoba Residential Tenancies Branch and Commission, and Employment and Income Assistance.
Sabrina is a certified community advocate and grassroots community activist. She understands the needs and experiences of many of those in the Point Douglas community where she has lived for the past five years, and where her matrilineal birth family resides.
