Read James' blog for his thoughts on various provincial issues.
James Beddome has served as leader of the Green Party of Manitoba since being elected in November 2008. Prior to this he had served as president of the party.
No stranger to hard work, James has both business and agricultural experience. Raised on a mixed livestock farm near Rapid City, he has worked as a farm hand, supervised the operations of an alfalfa processing plant, and has been an administrator with Nesbitt Burns. James obtained a double honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics in 2006. In university James excelled scholastically, obtaining recognition on the Deans Honour Roll, while working part-time during his course of studies. He now runs an independent eco-friendly marketing company, and he is studying law part-time at the University of Manitoba.
James Beddome's family is firmly rooted in Manitoba. His ancestors were among the original settlers of the province.
James believes that a better world is possible: "By committing a larger portion of government resources towards small-scale decentralized businesses and infrastructure we can simultaneously both improve our quality of life and reduce our impact upon the planet."
