Dr. Teresa Pun is a certified internal medicine physician, currently completing her final year of training in the subspecialty of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at the University of Manitoba. Teresa was born in Hong Kong and with her family immigrated to Canada as an infant, her family pursuing more opportunities and Canada’s cleaner air.  She enjoys camping, and is grateful for Manitoba’s beautiful places and opportunities to enjoy nature.

Teresa relies on active transportation to get to and from work, often walking and supporting local businesses in the diverse downtown en route home. She was attracted to the Green slate because its policies are sustainable and focused on the people of Manitoba. She believes that creating environmentally sound policies can be good for the local economy, benefiting the job market and producing quality employment in this province.

Point Douglas is burdened with high crime rates, high poverty rates and high unemployment rates.  As a physician she sees daily the long-term consequences that poverty, crime, and a lack of an education can have on today’s Manitobans.  Health is a basic human right. To support health, one must also address the social determinants of health. She has worked with disadvantaged populations on a one-on-one basis as a physician, and is prepared to do the same for Point Douglas as a Green Party MLA
