Lisa Omand is a teacher and active community volunteer who has resided in Kirkfield Park for over 30 years. She grew up in Westwood and then moved back 12 years ago with her husband to raise their family in the same neighbourhood. Lisa received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Winnipeg and is now working as a substitute teacher. She is the president of the Robert Browning Parent Council and an executive member of the Manitoba Highland Dancers’ Association. She was a leader with Girl Guides of Canada for several years and has also been a Big Sister with Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
Lisa has always dedicated her career and volunteer choices to working with children. Lisa believes in keeping things locally owned and operated. She supports programs like the Guaranteed Income Plan, which encourage citizens help themselves rather than keeping them stuck in poverty. She believes that Manitoba-owned businesses and provincial Crown Corporations keep jobs and profits in Manitoba. Responsible management of our resources allow for a sustainable future. She wants to see a Manitoba where common sense and long-term sustainability are the basis for decision-making. Our government should be acting in the best interest of all Manitobans.
Lisa would be honoured to represent Kirkfield Park as your MLA.
