New to Green politics? You must know this:

Democratic evolution requires participation — from everyone... yes, you too.

People interested in joining the Green Party of Manitoba are encouraged to participate in the areas and ways that interest them the most.

Plummeting voter turn-outs have resulted in the establishment of official governments that actually represent a small portion of the electorate.

When the majority of our population does not believe we have representation, apathy, disillusionment and frustration abound.

We understand these feelings, but removing oneself from the process is not going to improve our situation. This is why we believe it is not enough to sign on as a member, but that we have a responsibility to discover the Green issues or activities that we can support in whichever manner we are most comfortable with. How can I get more involved?

The Floral Emblem of the Green Party of Manitoba

gaillardia flower
Gaillardia aristata (also known as Blanket Flower, Indian Blanket, Brown-eyed Susan)

This beautiful flower is a hardy perennial, native to North America and found from northern Canada to California, New Mexico and Texas. It is a member of the aster or sunflower family (Asteraceae) and resembles a small sunflower.

First Nations made use of the Blanket Flower for medicinal and culinary purposes. Many cultivated varieties are now grown as ornamentals.
