Alain Landry

Alain Landry has spent his whole life in Saint-Boniface, Manitoba. Of French and Metis descent, he graduated from le College Secondaire de Saint-Boniface in 1980, receiving his degree in education at le College Universitaire de Saint-Boniface, with a major in history.

His fascination for history and French culture led him to study at the site of Fort Louisbourg [la Forteresse de Louisbourg]. Through a program offered by University College of Cape-Breton, Nova Scotia, he earned his certificate in Historical Preservation and Conservation. Having previously taught Social Studies at Charleswood Junior High School, he is now teaching Geography, Law and Social Studies at le College Beliveau, a French immersion high school.

He and his wife Susan have 2 children, Nicole and Rachelle, ages 7 and 9.

 

Priorities for St. Boniface:

-Invest in public transportation, cycling paths, and sidewalks
-Notify residents when and where pesticides will be sprayed, ban the use of cosmetic pesticides ultimately working towards creating a pesticide free world.
-Invest in a province wide composting program and community gardens.
