Premier's green 'vision' considered out of focus
Re: $35 M to fund 'clean' gasoline (April 20)
(Letter to the Editor, Winnipeg Free Press)
According to your article, gasohol is part of Premier Gary Doer's
vision for a greener Manitoba. Tinkering with gasoline additives scarcely
qualifies Mr. Doer and the NDP government as green visionaries. Mr. Doer's
"vision" also includes a coal-fired electricity plant, clear-cutting in
provincial parks, gigantic hog farms and hydroelectric dam construction.
Our premier's "vision" for a greener Manitoba even includes a new highway
up the east side of Lake Winnipeg that will irreversibly alter the last
pristine boreal forest in North America. For a visionary, our premier does
not have the sharpest eyesight.
